After a brief update hiatus aTV Flash 4.1.3 has been released. This versions adds a handful of new features as well as many stability/bug fix improvements. This update is recommended for all users, and can be easily installed through the Maintenance –> Manage Plugins menu directly on the AppleTV.
A non-exhaustive list of some key additions is outlined below.
Remote HD – Support for the popular new iPhone/iPad app is now available through aTV Flash. Remote HD can be quickly and easily installed through the Maintenance –> Install Extras menu. Remote HD can be purchased in the iTunes app store here.
Maintenance – Made things a bit more intuitive by adding descriptions for settings and installable options. Also squashed a few minor bugs.
Couch Surfer Pro – A default zoom option has been added. This allows you to specify the zoom level used when first loading a webpage. Comes in handy if you find yourself constantly adjusting the zoom when browsing.
Mac Installer – Fixed a few pesky bugs, most notably a conflict with the ‘Clean My Mac’ software.
Stay tuned for more great features to come later this summer

aTV Flash 4.1.1 includes a number of bug fixes for various issues that some users have been experiencing. The most prominent of these issues revolve around the new version of Sapphire that was included in aTV Flash version 4.1. Importing data with this version (Sapphire 7.8 and later) can lead to an overall system slowdown, and in extreme cases a restart of the AppleTV. Until these issues can be resolved the previous version of Sapphire (7.7) has been included in 4.1.1.
Users can easily downgrade to Sapphire 7.7 by following the steps below.
1. Navigate to Maintenance –> Manage Plugins
2. Remove the current version of Sapphire by highlighting it, and pressing the right arrow (>>). You will be prompted to confirm the removal and restart the AppleTV.
3. Re-install Sapphire through the same menu and restart the AppleTV when prompted.
Other changes included in this version can be seen on the version history page.
